Not everything in your email box is for real.
You may receive mail that looks like it's from someone you know or from a company you do business with, but it's not.
It is an attempt at "social engineering," which uses personal relationships you may have with people, organizations, or businesses to get you to do something. Sometimes it's just a ploy to get you to read an advertisement, but other times the mail may have other, much worse intentions.
